What Are Workday Releases and Why Do They Happen?
Workday continuously evolves to meet the changing needs of businesses and ensure optimal performance for its customers. Regular updates and major releases help achieve this goal.
- Frequent Updates: Smaller updates are released weekly to address immediate needs and improvements.
- Major Releases: Twice a year, in March (R1) and September (R2), Workday bundles more substantial feature updates into major releases.
These major releases enable businesses to plan and integrate new capabilities more effectively. Features across various Workday modules are updated, and to facilitate a smooth transition, Workday provides a preview of these updates five weeks before the official release.
During this preview window, businesses can conduct regression testing to ensure the updates do not disrupt their current configurations. This period also allows exploration of new features, enabling companies to leverage them for enhanced business value.
